Split a bill (plus tip) evenly across a group and see exactly what each person owes.
How the split is calculated
The tip is added to the bill first, then the total is divided evenly by the number of people to get each per-person share. Turn on rounding if you want every person to pay a round dollar amount — useful when you're collecting cash, since it avoids leftover coins. Any extra collected from rounding is shown separately.
Example: a $120 bill with an 18% tip split four ways comes to $35.40 per person, or $36 each with rounding on.
Example: a $342.75 bill with a 20% tip split seven ways is $58.76 per person exactly, or $59 each with rounding on — rounding always rounds every share up to the next whole dollar, and the $1.70 that over-collects is shown separately rather than added to any one person's share. This tool always splits evenly — for a group that ordered very different amounts, tip and total each person's own items separately instead.
If a gratuity is already built into the bill total you're entering, set the tip percentage to 0% so it isn't added a second time.
